Steamboat Springs is located in the Yampa Valley of northern Colorado. It is home to the Howelsen Hill and Steamboat ski areas. Six peaks, including Mount Werner, can be found in the latter. According to some, the city's hot springs have therapeutic properties. The long-standing Old Town Hot Springs, located near the city center, has soaking and swimming pools as well as water slides.
