Telluride is a former Victorian mining community in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. It is located in a box canyon among forested peaks at a popular ski-and golf resort. The historic district of the town houses landmarks such as the Sheridan Opera House which is a performing-arts venue built in 1913 and the Telluride Historical Museum that displays local history in an 1896 hospital.
