Carmel-by-the-Sea, a small California beach town, is located on California's Monterey Peninsula. It is known for its museums and library, the Carmel Mission and the village-like centre with fairytale cottages and galleries. The Scenic Bluff Path connects Carmel Beach with Carmel River State Beach. It also has a scuba entry point. South lies Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, home to the whaling museum and sea animals.
