Estes Park can be described as a northern Colorado town. It is a major base for Rocky Mountain National Park. The park has a variety of wildlife, including bears and elk, as well as miles of trails. Trail Ridge Road runs through the park, passing through forests, tundra, and craggy peaks. Roosevelt National Forest's wilderness areas are nearby. For views of the valley, the Estes Park Aerial Tramway connects to Prospect Mountain's summit.
