


Pawleys Island, a South Carolina town on the same barrier island as the name, is known as. It is known for its beaches, sand dunes and other natural beauty. Many of the Pawleys Islands Historic District houses date back to the 18th Century. Brookgreen Gardens is located north of town and features a zoo as well as sculptures, gardens, and native plants. Huntington Beach State Park, located nearby, is home to Atalaya, an Moorish-style mansion with beaches and wetlands.
