


Tybee Island, a barrier island near Savannah, Georgia, is also a small city. It is known for its sandy beaches including South Beach with a pier, pavilion, and other amenities. Fort Screven, a 19-century concrete gun battery and Tybee Island Light Station & Museum are located in the island's northern part. Many times have been done to rebuild the 18th-century lighthouse. The museum is located in Battery Garland and focuses on local history.
