Boone is located in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains. The Hickory Ridge Living History Museum recreates the 1700s homestead lifestyle in Daniel Boone Park. The park also hosts the seasonal drama "Horn in the West", which evokes the hardships of pioneers such as Boone. Blue Ridge Parkway runs past the town and offers beautiful mountain views. Grandfather Mountain is located nearby and has a suspension footbridge as well as a nature museum.
